About Us
Hello friends! My name is Dianne Elliott. In 2012, my father, Ronny Ammons, embarked on the ambitious project of building Sunset Retreat, a haven for quilters and craft enthusiasts alike. Being a quilter myself, I was particularly thrilled about this new venture. My passion for crafting initially blossomed through scrapbooking, a hobby that often saw me dragging my mother, Janie, along to retreats. Despite her initial reluctance, my mother, a self-taught quilter, eventually persuaded me to attend a quilting retreat, thus igniting my own journey in the world of quilting.
Following our father's passing, my sister Kimberly and I found ourselves entrusted with the responsibility of managing not just one, but two thriving businesses. It's a task we've taken on with determination, hoping to honor our father's legacy with our efforts.
Currently, my husband James, our daughter Addi, and I have made Sunset Retreat our home, residing on the picturesque property that our father worked tirelessly to establish. Meanwhile, my sister's family—comprised of Adam, Bella, Bailey, and Kayden—is in the process of constructing their own residence on the same land. It's a realization of our father's dream to have us all living harmoniously on the ranch he envisioned. As we continue to navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship and family life, we strive to uphold the values and dreams that our father instilled in us.
Nestled on a sprawling 150-acre working ranch, Sunset Retreat offers a serene escape amidst the picturesque landscapes and sunsets of the countryside. This vast expanse of land was more than just a backdrop for our retreat; it was a testament to our father's dedication to agriculture and family.
Daddy's passion for ranching extended beyond mere business; it was a labor of love, a legacy he wanted to pass down to future generations. He meticulously raised both commercial black Angus and show cattle, not only for the purpose of sustenance but also as a source of joy and pride for his grandchildren.
